‘Night’ is about enjoying the beauty in front of you. Sometimes we can have periods in our lives, where we sort of drift by and stop enjoying the little things.
‘Unattainable’ is a poem about being in love with a person that seems unattainable. You want them to notice you and wait patiently because you know you can’t force anything, but deep down you want to speed things up.
If someone you adore keeps leaving you small breadcrumbs, and you follow blindly it can get toxic. That’s what ‘Breadcrumb’ is about. Not realizing the bad situation and simply following suit.
‘Symmetrical’ is about falling into toxic relationships instead of getting out in time and enjoying what is symmetrical. Not boring, but calm and it fits exactly what you need.
‘Distance II’, the second of a two-part series, is about the distance between two people in a relationship. Where they each feel they are and where they each feel the relationship is going.
‘Distance I’, the first of a two-part series, is comparing physical distance with emotional distance.
Have you ever ridden your bike and seen a car, bus or tram pass you by and you started going as fast as you could trying to catch up to it, even though it does not help you at all? ‘Chasing’ is about all that. About always following what you think you want like a sheep instead of realizing what’s in front of you.
When you’re weak, you can only get stronger. The poem ‘Strong’ is about thoughts wandering off back and forth thinking if one should get in touch with an old flame. Would doing so be something both of you actually want or is it just a confidence boost? Will you regret it?
‘Weak’ is about being stuck, not having moved on, and feeling weak because of it. You’re drawn to contact your old flame, but as soon as you do, the split second after you press send, you’re filled with regret. This ping-pong goes back and forth a few times until enough time has passed and you become strong.
